Jonah is a familiar Bible story that has been taught to generations of young children in Sunday School. Is there a message in the Book of Jonah for us today?

Jonah was a prophet sent by God to share the message of repentance or face complete destruction to an city filled with wickedness. The people of Ninevah were brutal enemies to Israel and they deserved to face the judgement of God in Jonah’s eyes.

In a culture that is changing rapidly what should Christians do? Should we sit and wait for the judgement of God to reign down on those living in unrighteousness, or should we respond to the call and go with the gospel?
