In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, we read, ‘The time of my departure has come.’ Paul is back in a Roman prison, and he knows that he is going to die for the gospel. In this letter, Paul urges Timothy to make every effort to visit him before his execution. He passes the baton to Timothy and reminds him to guard the truth, avoid false teaching, be aware that suffering is part of ministry, and be ready to teach at all times.
